What a great weekend.
So, remember me posting about how this past weekend we were going to my FIL's surprise birthday party? Turns out, my MIL and my husband have been scheming for weeks to throw me a surpise (belated) baby shower. :) Boy, was I surprised when I walked through my in-laws' front door to see a beautiful baby shower set up. It was lovely. Avery will be the best dressed little girl for the next two years. LOL She got so many nice things. We spent the night there and drove home yesterday. We ate at Cracker Barrel on the way home. YUM. We had to wait for 15 minutes for a table, so we walked around the little shop (which I love). But, C.K. was a nervous wreck about the girls touching things. So, they walked around the store with their hands in their pockets the whole time. It was so cute, they were trying so hard to keep those hands in the pockets. ;) We had a great meal and came home. Was a wonderful weekend.

P.S. Does anyone know the secret to those triangular games with the pegs? Want to clue me in?

5 years.
Yesterday was our five year anniversary. It was quite uneventful. Kmart and Pizza Hut. What a treat, huh? It really is hard to believe it has been five years. Harder yet is three kids in 7 years. Sometimes, I still can't believe I am a "grown-up." ;)

I have to take my two older girls to get flu shots today. Should be fun. I really debated on whether or not to do it. I am funny about all these vaccinations. I feel like if we vaccinate against every little thing (i.e. chicken pox, flu), how are they ever going to build up their little immune systems? I obviously lost the chicken pox battle when Jaycie had to have it to go to school. I thought it might be wise to get them a flu shot because well, I don't want them to get the flu, and I really don't want the baby to get the flu. Who knows what the daycare kids could bring in here and Jaycie from school. So, we are going to do it.

We got three inches of snow on Wednesday night. School was delayed 2 hours yesterday, which I thought was strange. Three inches in nothing here, you can tell it is early. It was just as well because our power was out from 3:30 a.m. until a most 9:30 a.m. We have a generator in the barn but not the house (priorities, I guess. ;)) . I was thanking our lucky stars for the fireplace or it would have been FREEZING in here. I am so not ready for winter. UGH.

Can't get any better that this.
My sweet baby girl has slept from 8 p.m. until almost 5 a.m. the past two nights. Here I thought 8:30-3 was good. Lucky, lucky me.
My new favorite show.
Anyone else a fan? LOOOVE IT! I watched an episode about a month or so back and thought it was good. But, I kept forgetting it was on Monday nights and Lord knows I can't stay awake long enough to watch any of my shows lately. This past weekend there was a Prison Break marathon on FX and I got caught up. I watched last night as well. It is just so good. Now, I realize those of you who know I love Breaking Bondaduce may not take my word for it. But, seriously ...it is a really great show. ;)

No, this isn't Shutterfly.
I am just in a picture sharing mood, I guess.

Who will be the prettiest trick-or- treaters around?
Three guesses. ;)

Disney on Ice.
We had such a great day. The girls had an absolute blast. We had front row seats and I thought they we were going to have to glue them to their seats when the princesses all came out! :) Jaycie loves Jasmine, so I thought I would include a pic of her. We spent $25 on two rinky dink plastic princess wands, but what the heck--they are only little once, right?

At one point, Timon came over to Mackenna and she hid behind C.K. She wanted no part of him. Funny, the difference between her and Jaycie. Kenna is so shy and Jaycie is a wild child. Makes me wonder how my redhead will be when she gets older.

We all went to Ruby Tuesdays afterwards and pigged out. We got home about 10. Late night for us simple folk. ;)

Check out these cheeks!
Scenes from my area.
I thought this might be a neat thing to share. Maybe some of you could do this on your blogs as well. :)

I really love it here.

I am surprised we have any leaves left after all the rain we have had the past week. But, we do and it is so beautiful here. I just love fall. When we moved here two and a half years ago, I thought it was the end of the world. We were in such a bad situation, though and really had no choice. I was so upset that we had to move four hours from my family and two hours from his. Fortunately, we still see our families at least once every couple of months, usually more. I always said once Jaycie started school, that was it. Wherever that happened to be, is where we would stay, circumstances allowing. So, luckily we are all happy here.

I wanted to be able to make a trip too Cooperstown before the leaves all fell. I doubt that will happen. This weekend, we are taking the girls to meet my parents in Elmira, NY (halfway point) to see Disney on Ice (They are so excited to see the princesses). Then, the next weekend is C.K.'s dad's 65th birthday party. So, I think it may have to wait until next year. Too bad because Cooperstown is the best place to visit in the fall. There is a huge lake that just looks so beautiful with the colorful leaves around it. And, it just is so festive. Nevermind all the baseball stuff, I couldn't care less about that (although hubby likes it). I love to visit the Farmer's Museum this time of year and also the Fly Creek Cider Mill.

Well, baby is back asleep so I am off. Maybe I can doze for 30 minutes or so before I have to wake Jaycie up for school. Every little bit helps, right?

How do 5 people
go through a load of laundry each daily? I swear I am constantly washing, drying, or folding laundry.

I cleaned my oldest daughter's room today. What a job that was. I found 27 socks in her toybox. Good grief. I also threw a bunch of stuff out. She was not a happy camper when she got home from school. I chuckled under my breath when she opened her bedroom door and noticed things missing. Just a bit of payback for her stubborness in not keeping things neat and tidy. Does that make me evil? Muahahaha.

One of my daycare moms/friends brought me a bag of Bath and Body works goodies today as a belated birthday gift. Oh my goodness, I was so excited. I can't wait to bathe now. My life is just so exciting.

One year left of my twenties.
Better live it up. LOL I turn 29 today. My six year old wrote me a book. What a sweet gift, huh? I am sure when she is all grown up, I will find it and cry my eyes out. I love those kinds of gifts.

The post-pregnancy hair loss has begun. I am shedding worse than my dog right now. UGH. I hate that. The post-pregnancy diet has also begun. Boy, am I hungry! ;)

Not a shred of will power.
I am no longer pregnant, so that means.....I am just fat. Which leads to my dilemma.

How do I diet with all this frick frackin' Halloween candy everywhere I turn?

Random thoughts from my day.
1. While flipping through the channels this afternoon, I found P.Diddy's show, "Making the Band." I wondered why the winners got so excited because I don't think I have ever heard of any of them again after the fact. ;) And, now we are going on season 4. Hmmm.

2. I found a package from a dear friend in my mailbox. It was a baby gift for Avery and a sweet card. This particular friend has had an unimaginable summer and if there was ever a time for her to be concentrating soley on herself and her family it is now. The fact that she even thought of me and my new little one right now just proves how wonderful she is and how truly lucky I am to have such remarkable friends.

3. I need Tivo.

4. I am really impressed with myself for beginning our Christmas shopping over the weekend. :)

5. My husband and I are going to start doing sit-ups together in the evenings. We decided to start out at 20 each. This should be so entertaining.
